Sending Happy Thoughts

One of the sentiments I see a lot in stamp sets is "sending happy thoughts".  This is one of my favorite greetings to send to people because it let's you know you are right there cheering them on in their journey or just reminding them that they are important to you.

For today's project, I was inspired by my variety of Astrobright cardstock to create a happy rainbow of clouds with a clean and simple style.

I chose 6 swatches of Astrobright to create my clouds--Lunar Blue, Martian Green, Venus Violet, Sunburst Yellow, Cosmic Orange, and Fireball Fuchsia.  Don't you love those names?!  When you buy Astrobright, you can choose the "Create your own assortment" option and try out as many colors as you'd like.

I cut out the clouds using an older die from Paper Smooches called, Curly Clouds.  Since the clouds are just outlines, I glued each to a sheet of Curious Translucent Vellum and trimmed them out.

I love the bright, happy outlines with the soft vellum. I used the Zig 2-Way Glue Pen to adhere the delicate die cuts.

I created a 4-1/2" x 5-1/2"" note card using Cougar Super Smooth 100# card stock and blended a little bit of Salty Ocean Distress Oxide to create a sky for the clouds and sentiment.

I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Pretty Pink Posh on to a stitched heart die from Kat Scrappiness and added all the parts to the card using foam tape and small bits of clear pop dots for behind the vellum.

I placed the clear glue dots strategically where the clouds curl so it would not show through as much.  I love how this card turned out with the Astrobright.  The colors are so cheerful against the soft white and blue background.

Thanks so much for joining me today and be sure to head over the CutCardStock shop to see all the Astrobright color options on sale this month.
