Spring Butterfly - A Fresh Take on Seasonal Decorating!

Hi there! Hannah here, from Fanciful Spaces!

Today is my second blog post for the Cut CardStock Design Team. A couple of weeks ago I showcased how to create a beautiful heart mobile using the Curious Metallics cardstock found at Cut CardStock. Today I'm still showcasing this BEAUTIFUL cardstock! In fact, if this is possible, I'm highlighting, even more, its luminosity!

It all started with a "quick" trip to my local big box craft store. I had wanted a blank mossy wreath that I could decorate with a silhouetted spring scene using the Curious Metallics paper. Where my plan went awry was when I asked my daughter which wreath she liked better. She preferred a butterfly door hanging instead.

Fortunately, I immediately knew how to augment this "wreath" and thought that showing my audience how they can alter generic craft items might be useful!

Wouldn't it be great if, hanging from the underside, this butterfly literally said "Spring"? And, what if I could incorporate other butterflies as if there are a kaleidoscope (or swarm) of other butterflies? So, that is just what I did. And, in doing so, I took the opportunity to add a thousand different details, all these details make this project more personal and pack more of a punch!

In addition to showcasing the Curious Metallics paper, I also employed the color of the Pop Tones cardstock, specifically Limeade, and the Basis Black Cardstock for added PUNCH!

Watch my process here:

I hope that this project has inspired you and that you have the opportunity to create your own home decor! Don't the personal touches just pack a punch?!?!?
