I decided to try my hand at making a star inside a metal ring, one of those metal rings that minimalistic wreaths are made on, the super trendy ones.
I am very pleased with the results. I used an SVG file to cut out a sentiment on my Brother Scan-and-Cut. Because my Blue Raspberry Pop-Tone paper I had wasn't QUITE the right shade of blue, I used some Catherine Pooler Ink (Something Blue) and my Picket Fence's Life Changing Blending Brushes to acquire the color I needed. The Wild Cherry color was already perfect. :)
If you're curious, you can easily order a swatch book of the Pop-Tone papers. I love having mine, being able to switch around and to see the wide variety that Cut CardStock offers. I've even been known to try sampling ink blending on the edges, just to help give me more variety and options. This is especially helpful in situations like this, where I didn't have the "perfect" shade of blue.
I wanted my image to feel as if it were floating in the center of my frame, therefore I adhered it onto some acetate. By weaving the sentiment into itself I made the image more fluid and interesting. MOST of the edges of the acetate are hidden by elements I added to the wreath, such as the flags. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to hide all the edges, but unless you look very closely no one will notice.
Thank you so much for hanging out with me today, I hope I have inspired you to get out your cardstock and to play!
